Performance Music

Welcome from the Head Teacher – Creative and Performing Arts

It is my great pleasure to welcome you and your child to Performance Music for 2017.

As a co-curricular extension program operating within the Creative and Performing Arts (CAPA) department, Performance Music’s objectives are three-fold:

  1. Equip each student with competent-to-advanced music performance skills
  2. Provide each student with regular opportunities for meaningful, high-quality performance
  3. Develop in each student a passion for life-long learning, personal development and musical enjoyment.

Now in our fourth year of operation, Performance Music works with over 50 students across all areas of musical performance. The program also operates two full-size, award-winning ensembles with several more planned for 2017. Students work through a comprehensive, practice-based curriculum delivered by a faculty of experienced teachers and industry professionals.

Performance Music equips students with valuable skills that can be enjoyed long after their time at Kingscliff High School. Having music as a significant part of a child’s education assists with brain development, general learning skills, academic achievement, life skills, personal enrichment and inter-personal relationships. Just as important, though, is that music is fun!

This section of the Web Site outlines the various aspects of the Performance Music program for 2017, and how to get involved.

Please contact us at any time if you require further information; we look forward to your child’s participation in Performance Music, assisting their growth as musicians and young adults.
